Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
You are picked up by your guide from your Kigali hotel or the airport (if arriving on a morning flight) and begin with a city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where more than 250,000 victims were given a decent burial. After lunch at a local restaurant you drive (about 2 hours) to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight.

Gorilla Trek and Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast you are driven at 7:30 am, with a packed lunch, to the park office in Kinigi, where a ranger briefs you on the rules of mountain gorilla tracking. The trek can last from one to six hours depending on the gorillas' movements; it is strenuous but rewarding, and you are given one hour with the gorillas to take photographs. Afterwards you have lunch at a local restaurant and drive back to Kigali (about 2 hours), where you are dropped at your hotel or the airport for your evening flight.
