Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport (an early daytime flight is needed) you drive to Ruhengeri near the volcanoes, through rolling hills with views of valleys and plantations. Dinner and overnight near the park.

Gorilla Trekking
Trekking begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the park officials; carry a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks and hiking boots. Guides lead you into the forest to the gorilla group you have been booked for; the tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but is well worth the effort. In the afternoon you visit the Iby'Iwacu cultural centre to learn about Rwanda's past kingship, marriage customs, beer making and local herbs.

Volcanoes to Kigali Airport
After a relaxed breakfast you drive back to Kigali (about 2 hours), with an early lunch en route. Time permitting, you visit the Genocide Memorial centre before transfer to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight.
